Running a software company means managing a lot of moving parts at once. As Akveo grew, a lot of critical business processes became scattered across spreadsheets, documents, and third-party tools.
Employee management, performance reviews, project tracking, invoicing, contractor agreements, and compliance were all handled separately, creating data silos and increasing administrative overhead.

The Akveo team developed a centralized internal portal using Next.js and Supabase. Designed around the company's core business functions, it brings HR, finance, project management, and operational workflows into a single system.
The development process was accelerated with AI-assisted tools, including Claude Code, which helped streamline implementation, automate repetitive development tasks, and speed up delivery, while maintaining high code quality.

Centralizes employee data, organizational structure, compensation, leave management, equipment tracking, and audit history in comprehensive employee profiles. Managers can conduct monthly performance reviews with structured peer feedback, review periods, and wellbeing notes, making people management more consistent and transparent.
Manages client, internal, and contractor invoices. Finance teams gain visibility into planned revenue, office margins, commission accruals, and billing configurations from a single interface. There's also built-in support for multiple currencies and automatic exchange rate retrieval, which simplifies reconciliation and financial reporting.
To simplify tax compliance, contractor invoices follow an automated workflow from creation to validation and completion. The system verifies invoices against Poland's KSeF registry, generates the required documentation, and securely stores records, significantly reducing manual effort and the risk of errors.
All projects are connected to clients, assignments, SOWs, timesheets and invoicing, providing end-to-end visibility across delivery workflows. Time reporting is synchronized with YouTrack and performance metrics are linked to resource leads.
AI enabled a wide range of automations across the platform. For example, the system sends performance review reminders, synchronizes Google Workspace groups with the active employee roster, updates YouTrack user data, and delivers Slack notifications for milestones such as work anniversaries. Plus, recurring operational tasks are handled automatically through scheduled workflows.
Role-based permissions backed by Supabase Row-Level Security ensure each team can access only the information relevant to their responsibilities. This way, HR, finance, managers, and individual contributors all work within the same platform while maintaining strict data security and privacy.
