About the Project

Greenfield cloud-native ERP for a German pawnbroking chain - a multi-tenant SaaS replacing SAP and serving as the foundation for franchise growth. It fully digitizes the pawn business: eliminating media breaks, reducing manual work, and improving reporting and financial control.

Scope - full pawn lifecycle across branch and back-office apps: collateral valuation (AI), contracts & e-signature, loans, payments, storage, auctions.

Architecture - event-driven microservices, DDD/Event Storming, ADRs, trunk-based, cloud-provider independence.

Compliance - KYC, GDPR, audit.

Team - Architect, 2 full-stack developers, and a designer on Akveo's side; management on the client's side.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of commercial experience in a similar full-stack development role
• Strong backend development with Node.js and TypeScript, hands-on experience with NestJS
• Designing and building event-driven microservices
• API development across REST/OpenAPI and gRPC
• Working with relational and document databases - PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Event streaming and asynchronous messaging with Kafka
• Automated testing and CI as part of the everyday workflow
• Solid grasp of Domain-Driven Design and respect for architectural boundaries
• Commitment to secure development and the correctness of financial operations
• English at B1 level or higher

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver frontend and backend features for cloud-native applications
• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js
• Implement user-facing functionality based on UX/UI requirements and technical architecture
• Design and integrate scalable solutions across frontend, backend, APIs, authentication, and event-driven workflows
• Apply Domain-Driven Design and respect architectural boundaries across services
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and architects to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code across the full stack
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions
• Ensure application quality through performance optimization, usability, accessibility, and maintainability improvements
